| I’ve
been a fly fisherman for over 10 years and have always found
great joy in teaching others to fly fish or improve their
technique.
So
what kind of trip can you expect when you hire me as a guide?
My job is to ensure you have a safe, fun day wading water
that I’ve fished myself, and thus can teach you how
and where to cast and catch fish. I prefer to dry fly fish
whenever possible but can also help you with your nymphing
and streamer techniques. As your guide, I provide all the
gear you need including rods, waders and flies. The only
thing I strongly recommend you bring is a pair of Polarized
Sunglasses. I cannot stress how important this is and how
much it will improve your fishing.
If
we are fishing the southern New Hampshire seacoast area,
I can bring you to easily accessible rivers such as the
Exeter, Cocheco, Isinglass and Lamprey. The Lamprey is a
great spring and winter fishery. I am the president of Portsmouth’s
Great Bay TU chapter and am very involved in the fall stocking
of this river. If you are searching for a great local place
to learn to fly fish, these rivers are perfect. Also, because
they are so close to my home, I’m able to offer economic
trips on these rivers.
If,
however, you’d like to experience the best Fly Fishing
New Hampshire has to offer, I highly recommend joining me
in Pittsburg, New Hampshire to fish the Connecticut
River. The dry fly fishing is incredible and it’s
possible to catch Rainbow, Brook, and Brown Trout and Landlocked
Salmon all in one day.
